About Our Site

TheVintageCar was formed to offer a unique reference point on restoring, running and learning about vintage cars.

In an age where throwaway culture rules supreme, it's often difficult to find relevant information that supports the role of restoration and renewal. Nowhere greater is this challenge than with respect to vintage and classic car restoration.

It is often the work of amateur enthusiasts that keep these historical motoring gems in working order. The sheer age of these vehicles means that many of the skilled hands that once worked hard to build and maintain them, are sadly no longer around to impart their guidance.

So for this reason, we feel it is important to be able to encourage and support those that choose to undertake the work of vintage and classic car restoration. In the absence of a strong knowledge base offering practical guidance, there is a real chance that these, once commonplace, skills will be lost for good. The work involved in restoring and maintaining vintage cars is undeniably demanding and at times extremely frustrating. But it is also equally rewarding and the satisfaction can be immense.

We hope TheVintageCar will serve as a font of knowledge and be of some assistance to those brave enough to undertake a restoration project. From fixing a vintage radiator, to displaying your vintage car at shows, the aim is that this site will prove to be an interesting resource that will ultimately help to keep alive part of our motoring heritage.
